FFG Workshop III – Negotiating a Term Sheet 

In the realm of finance founders of tech startups are often at a disadvantage in negotiating funding terms with investors possessing much more financial experience. This workshop is meant to level the playing field and to ensure that tech founders are in the best position to not only increase their probability of securing investment funds but, perhaps more importantly, to negotiate the most favorable funding terms. The workshop is intended to improve the negotiating position and skills of founders. The workshop will commence with two pre-negotiation topics- Building negotiating leverage and formulating a negotiating strategy. Breaking down a term sheet by dividing terms into three categories and employing concepts and tactics found in Sun Tzu’s Art of War will follow. The workshop will conclude with How to Conclude Negotiations and two post-negotiation topics- Negotiation Post-Mortem and Due Diligence.
